Autodesk releases PLM 360 Mobile apps

Android and iOS versions connect to the cloud-based PLM.

Autodesk has released mobile apps for its PLM 360 suite, extending the capabilities of its cloud-based system beyond the desktop. The Android and iOS versions are identical, taking a dashboard approach to connecting to the workgroup’s PLM installation.

Autodesk says PLM 360 is in “active use” at more than 450 companies, with 43,700 workspaces managing 2.4 million items. It is designed to manage engineering processes, projects, and people by automating key tasks and “delivering the right information to the right people at the right time.”

The app’s features include:

The Dashboard: Stay on top of status and work with quick access to Outstanding Items, Recent Items, Reports and Pinned Items.

Workspace Data: An instantly updated single source of “the truth” accessible at any time.

Workflow: Eliminate bottlenecks in your processes by letting task owners perform approvals and other workflow actions the minute they are notified, regardless of where they are.

Change Management: One of the most important tasks in PLM is change management. PLM 360 Mobile allows users to take control of change as it happens by responding to Change Requests in real time and instantly initiating and communicating Change Orders. Actions taken in the mobile app become part of the record of the complete change history and approval process.

Reports: Create or view existing reports charts, and graphs.

Attachments: Snapshots of models and photos taken on the mobile device can be attached to reports and updates.
