Autodesk teams with Aurigo

Autodesk is continuing its work to expand its footprint in construction. The company has announced an alliance with Aurigo. Founded in 2003, in Austin, Texas, Aurigo works with public sector agencies and facility owners with tools to plan, deliver, and maintain capital projects and assets. The company says its tools, including Aurigo Masterworks Cloud software, offer full construction lifecycle management.

As a result of the agreement between the two companies, Aurigo will integrate its tools into Autodesk Construction Cloud. In addition, Autodesk will acquire a minority stake in Aurigo.

For more information on the deal and the two companies, see Autodesk’s announcement of the deal.

What do we think?

As a result of the deal, says Autodesk, their customers will have access to “a single end-to-end technology platform for design, planning, construction, and operations of infrastructure and private assets.” Autodesk’s building-out of planning and management tools for infrastructure takes it deeper into Bentley Systems territory.

There is hope for an energetic recovery in construction worldwide but we have to wait for the worldwide quarantines to lift and for better treatments and vaccines against COVID-19. Timing will be important but this announcement suggests that Autodesk is optimistic.
