In less than two months, FMX 2025 will kick off its in-person conference. The program is now available online, with its wide range of topics focused on the latest topics in VFX, animation, and digital media production.
This year, FMX – The Film & Media Exchange is ready to celebrate the 29th edition of this conference, which is geared to topics in animation, visual effects, and interactive and immersive media. FMX offers professionals, companies, and students from around the globe a unique platform to present their work, share insights, debate, mingle, and network.

The conference, held in Stuttgart, Germany, attracts a kaleidoscope of thousands of international film and media professionals. While FMX has grown into a significant industry event, its origins are rather humble. The event was started by the renowned school Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg as a fair for students. Today, it boasts up to 300 speakers each year, which includes big names in the industry such as Oscar winners and others pushing the boundaries in their fields, as they share their creative developments and more.
The theme of this year’s FMX is Rhythm of Change, with VFX pioneer and Oscar and Emmy winner Paul Debevec, chief research officer at Netflix’s Eyeline Studios in Los Angeles, serving as program chair.
In addition to the on-site program May 6–9, there will be an on-demand option May 10 through June 10. Tickets can be purchased here.
