Blender Foundation starts a long-term support pilot program with Blender 2.83

Blender Foundation has released Blender 2.83 as its first LTS (Long Term Support) release. The LTS program is aimed at organizations or teams that require stable and maintained software up to a two-year period. The organizations will be provided with a stable Blender version. LTS releases will continue to receive critical fixes for a two-year period. An updated version naming convention will be adopted to clearly communicate how the growing number of Blender versions relate to each other.

There are over 1250 bugfixes. Other features include VR support, OpenVDB import, OptiX viewport denoising, and a new physics-enabled Cloth Brush.
