Done deal for Autodesk and Pix

A month ago, Autodesk announced its intention to acquire X2X Media Group’s Pix production management application, and now comes the news that the  acquisition has closed.

Pix will connect into Flow, Autodesk’s industry cloud for M&E, making it easier to share data captured on set with studio executives and production teams, providing greater collaboration and linking a previously disparate workflow, says Autodesk.

For years, Autodesk has provided some of the industry’s top tools to handle content creation and production management within the post industry. However, to provide optimal efficiency, Autodesk began focusing upstream, specifically on set, with the goal of integrating these two workflows—on set and post. The initial steps in this direction came with the acquisition of Moxion in early 2022. With the Pix acquisition, Autodesk says it will be able to further advance its work in this area.
