The recent preview of Apple Intelligence introduces a redesigned Siri with a glowing edge, improved command comprehension, and troubleshooting capabilities. It enhances photo search and movie creation, and offers AI-generated summaries for messages. Upcoming features include image and emoji generation, automated photo cleanup, and OpenAI ChatGPT integration, set for release over the next year.
Apple has launched the first version of Apple Intelligence, a suite of AI features designed to enhance Siri, generate emails and images, and organize notifications. Currently available in the developer beta of iOS 18.1, it is exclusive to registered Apple developers. The software also supports iPad and Mac in similar beta releases. Users must join a wait-list within the Apple settings app to access the service. Investors hope this AI integration will drive significant upgrades, especially since it is compatible only with iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and newer models. A public release is expected later this year, but not alongside new iPhone hardware.
The preview released on Monday includes several new features: a redesigned Siri interface with a glowing edge, improved understanding of commands even when the speaker stumbles, and the ability for Siri to answer troubleshooting questions about Apple products. It also enhances photo search and movie creation, provides AI-generated summaries for Mail, Messages, and voicemail transcriptions, and introduces Apple’s text-generation service, Writing Tools. Features like image and emoji generation, automated photo cleanup, advanced Siri improvements, and OpenAI ChatGPT integration will be rolled out over the next year.
