Two new Dell Alienware monitors on the horizon

The line, expanded to include 27-inch and 25-inch offerings, offers fast refresh rates and a place to hang your headset.

Gamers, if you are looking for new gaming monitors offering fast refresh rates, your wait is almost over. Dell has announced two new additions to its Alienware monitor line: a 27-inch and a 25-inch offering. Both feature a built-in retractable hanger located on the top left side of the monitor to conveniently place your headset. Because, well, gamers like to be neat and tidy.

The 27-inch AW2723DF, designed for work and play, is higher in resolution than the 25-inch product, but it has a lower refresh rate. It contains an LG Nano IPS panel with Quad HD 1440p resolution, has 240 Hz native variable refresh rate that can be overlocked to 280 Hz, and boasts a 1-ms (gray-to-gray) response time. The monitor comes with an RGB lighting system and covers 95% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and 100% of the sRGB color space. For gamers who also do Web work, users can switch to sRGB. User will also find a variety of ports, aside from DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 connections.

The AW2723DF will be available in October for $650.

Designed with input from pro gamers, the AW2523HF is optimized for competitive gaming.

The monitor comes with a 25-inch screen. It sports a 360 Hz refresh rate (no overclocking) and 0.5-ms gray-to-gray response time. It uses an IPS panel with a resolution of full HD 1080p and covers 99% of the sRGB color coverage. In addition, it comes with two HDMI 2.0 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4 connection, and more.

The AW2523HF will be available in September for $450.
