ISA to honor actor Ethan Hawke

The Advanced Imaging Society (AIS), representing a global community of filmmakers, technologists, and creatives, announced that Ethan Hawke will receive the 2026 Distinguished Artist Award at the 16th annual Lumiere Awards luncheon on Monday, February 9, 2026, at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

The theme for this year’s Lumiere Awards is “A Hero’s Journey,” honoring the heroes and heroines of storytelling—both on screen and behind the scenes—whose work makes our stories unforgettable.

“Ethan Hawke’s performance as Lorenz Hart in Richard Linklater’s Blue Moon is deeply felt and honest, and it’s clearly resonated with audiences and peers alike,” said Jim Chabin, president of the Advanced Imaging Society.  “After more than four decades of work, he remains one of contemporary cinema’s most versatile and talented artists, and we are proud to honor his legacy.”

As previously announced, Joseph Kosinski and Jerry Bruckheimer (F1) are recipients of the Harold Lloyd Award, and Jon M. Chu (Wicked and Wicked: For Good) will receive the inaugural Judy Garland Legacy Award.
