Chaos, creator of popular rendering software, recently announced Project Arena, for virtual production. To put Project Arena to the test, Chaos is calling for its industry friends to test it out in an actual production environment. It also decided to put it through its paces on its own production, a 10-minute short film called “Ray Tracing FTW.” The Chaos group put serious effort into the short by all accounts, with big-time Hollywood production and post-production people leading the effort. The short, though, is a spoof, meant to poke fun at or highlight the past work and challenges of those in VFX. It is creative and done well.
