Maxon steps into ArchViz

Maxon ArchViz

Maxon has built quite the reputation in the world of visual effects, animation, and 3D sculpting over the years. Now the company is setting its sights on the architectural visualization realm and has engineered a solution specifically for architects and designers that marries cinematic quality with the demands of real-world, real-time building workflows. The platform, which will seamlessly integrate with major CAD and BIM tools, allows users to move from real-time previews to quality final renders within a unified ecosystem.

Maxon is expanding its horizons into the architectural visualization realm, recently previewing a new solution that will soon be in beta that meets the demands of real-world, real-time architecture design workflows. With this solution, Maxon aims to offer this user segment the best of both worlds: high-end rendering from the M&E realm and AEC tools they are accustomed to using for their work. Seamlessly integrating with major CAD and BIM tools, starting initially with Vectorworks, the new platform enables users to move from real-time previews to stunning final renders within a unified ecosystem.

“We’re delivering more than just a plug-in. We’re giving architects a powerful yet intuitive tool that elevates their work visually, without adding complexity, so their designs can be expressed as intended with clarity and emotion,” said David McGavran, CEO of Maxon.

The new Maxon visualization tool for architects provides seamless export capabilities to Cinema 4D and Redshift, enabling even higher-end renders without leaving the workspace. With a single click, users can transition from real-time ray-traced previews to final render, elevating their architectural presentations by leveraging Maxon’s tools to deliver photorealistic-quality design assets using advanced lighting, materials, motion graphics, or cinematic post-processing.

The offering features real-time visualization, smart asset libraries for architectural realism, cross-platform performance, and workflow management—from site planning to final presentations. With a click, projects can be sent to Cinema 4D to create more advanced architecture visualizations, including complex procedural animations and simulations. It’s designed to make immersive walk-throughs, video exports, and high-end stills easier to generate than ever before, according to Maxon.

The solution will be available for both Mac and Windows.

Maxon is taking this initial step in partnership with Vectorworks. The native plug-in with intuitive controls is seamlessly integrated within the Vectorworks BIM environment.

Maxon says its new product introduction represents the first step in a larger architectural strategy for the company. While initial development is focused on Vectorworks, Maxon will expand support to additional design platforms, broadening access to real-time rendering tools within a seamlessly connected ecosystem.

According to Maxon, it will announce more information on the beta program this summer.
