Epic Games revealed Unreal Engine 5.5’s experimental MegaLights feature at Unreal Fest, enabling developers to use numerous shadow-casting lights without significant performance degradation. This update allows for 1,000 light sources, movable and dynamic shadows, and realistic area shadows.
