Autodesk’s Informed Design provides the missing link between design and manufacturing

Autodesk introduced its Design and Make Platform environment in November 2022, connecting via the cloud software, data, teams, and workflows used throughout a project’s life cycle, facilitating communication and streamlining processes. The company continues to expand the environment with new tools and capabilities, having just released what it calls Informed Design, which connects building design and manufacturing. Informed Design for Revit enables designers to work confidently with customizable, manufacturable building products such as stairs. Informed Design for Inventor lets product engineers establish guardrails for their products so that during customization, designers can be confident that what they conceive can be manufactured by the vendor. Both cloud offerings are available as free add-ons to Revit and Inventor, respectively.
