Twinmotion is an architecture rendering and visualization solution acquired by Epic Games that transforms raw 3D data into compelling real-time visuals. Recently, Nanite virtualized geometry system was introduced as a feature in the latest version of Twinmotion, 2025.2. This follows the addition of Lumen, Unreal Engine 5’s dynamic global illumination system, two years ago.

Nanite automatically streams only visible data on demand, enabling users to work with multiple extremely high-resolution, complex meshes comprising hundreds of millions of polygons—while maintaining real-time performance. As a result, users no longer have to optimize files before importing them.

Meshes can be converted to Nanite on import or afterward, according to the company. Users can also convert Sketchfab assets and Megascans 3D assets and 3D plants to Nanite.

Among the many new enhancements, Twinmotion 2025.2 has support for parallax windows, simulating rooms or building interiors without needing complex 3D geometry. The software also contains 17 new animated fog cards for art-directing fog placement with minimal performance impact, according to the company.

While known for its photorealism, Twinmotion’s FX post-processing system has been reworked as well to offer more flexibility and improved visual quality for non-realistic effects.
