Maxon family is growing

An acquisition by Maxon has resulted in the company and Laubwerk becoming part of the same family tree, as they join forces to provide hundreds of detailed and authentic 3D plant assets, materials, and tools to Maxon.

Maxon has been rolling out new Capsule image collections in its various Maxon One updates, including a library of high-quality and customizable plants, trees, and flowers from Laubwerk and others, to enhance users’ work. Starting now, Maxon software users can expect the available collection from Laubwerk to grow significantly following Maxon’s acquisition of the company.

Earlier this month, Maxon acquired the Berlin-based CG software company. Laubwerk offers ready-to-use, procedural 3D plants models for architects and CG artists working with popular 3D software platforms, to seamlessly add hundreds of detailed and authentic 3D plant assets, materials, and tools to their creative workflow.

According to Maxon, the acquisition is part of Maxon’s ongoing Capsules project to provide artists with essential assets to jump-start creativity with Laubwerk’s natural, luscious greenery and botanical materials. Maxon One subscribers will already have access to a selection of Laubwerk’s Redshift-ready trees and plants directly within the Cinema 4D Asset Browser as a result of their prior relationship.

“With the Laubwerk team joining Maxon, they bring synergies that will result in even greater innovation in our products and enhanced creative possibilities for artists,” said David McGavran, Maxon CEO. “Laubwerk’s vast library of plants and trees, some of which we already added to Maxon One as part of our long-standing partnership, is widely used by artists working in architectural visualization and visual effects.”
