Dassault Systèmes has acquired a 15% stake in AVSimulation, a provider of simulation solutions for autonomous vehicles. Based in France and the USA, AVSimulation has now become a joint venture between Oktal Sydac, Renault, and Dassault Systèmes. The 10 million euros capital increase has been subscribed by Dassault Systèmes. Following this increase, Oktal holds 55.25%, Renault 29.75%, and Dassault Systèmes 15% of AVSimulation.
Emmanuel Chevrier, CEO of AVSimulation, says that he is excited about the competitive advantage gained by the integration of the 3DExperience collaborative platform with AVSimulation’s simulation and validation software SCANeR.
The integration of SCANeR software into 3DExperience Platform will offer a complete solution for simulating the different levels of vehicle autonomy. The certification process will get faster while reducing prototyping and physical testing costs.
AVSimulation is hoping that equity investment by Dassault Systèmes will increase commercialization of SCANeR on a global scale and reinforce R&D investments. AVSimulation also has plans to make SCANeR available on the Dassault Systèmes cloud platform as soon as possible. Further future plans include making its other simulator and integration services available to Dassault’s customers.
