There are many updates and additions to the newly released Blender 4.2 LTS edition, ranging from significant performance improvements to ease-of-use changes. With the version’s LTS moniker, users can be confident that the 3D creation software will be maintained by the developers for two years (July 2026) and that no fixes issued before then will have adverse effects on their longer-term projects crafted using the version. Among the bigger changes to 4.2 LTS are with the render engines, with a new Eevee and an updated Cycles. As always, Blender is free, open-source software.
