In early 2024, OpenAI began showing off its work on an AI video generation tool it calls Sora. Updates and improvements were made throughout the year, and this week, OpenAI launched the commercial version of this offering called Sora Turbo, which, among other enhancements, includes a significant increase in the rate at which the video is produced.  The tool, currently available to users with ChatGPT plans, generates videos from text prompts, images, and existing videos. The resulting videos can be made in a variety of styles, resolutions, lengths, and aspect ratios.
