Chaos connects the dots

Chaos has added a bevy of updates to its ArchDesign Collection of offerings. What’s more, the company has turned those architectural tools into an interconnected workflow—from concept to delivery, allowing architects to mix and match the products at will to set up a workflow that works for them.

Chaos unleashed a tsunami of product updates, with changes to six of its architectural design and visualization tools delivered all at the same time. As a result, Chaos has connected the product dots, now offering users an uninterrupted end-to-end workflow, as updates to Enscape, Veras, Envision, and more enables architects to transition from ideation to design to final approvals. In all, close to 20 new capabilities for lighting, scene population, AI materials, and more have been added.

Chaos says the integrated solutions eliminate workflow friction, enabling users to focus on design instead of managing disconnected tools. By bridging the workflow between concept, design, presentation, and collaboration, teams have a more seamless process.

Moreover, with the updates and improvements now available for every product and service in the collection, architects gain an advantage at every stage of workflow. And because the tools and capabilities support a continuous workflow, projects can easily move across tools, teams, and phases, without information being rebuilt, translated, or lost.

Enscape

Enscape is used by architects to visualize CAD/BIM in real time. Chaos says it is often the entry point into the Chaos design ecosystem.

New features include:

  • Asset brush placement. Used for rapid scene population. 3D assets can now be painted into designs for refined creative control and instant visual feedback. Since assets are fully connected to the original BIM model, choices will remain consistent as projects evolve.
  • Centralized light management. Users can now manage all of their light sources via a centralized list, negating manual searches. Multiple presets can also be added to a single scene, making it easy to test, compare, and refine lighting scenarios without duplicating views or breaking the workflow.
  • AI material generator. Architects can now create custom 3D materials with real-world photos. High-resolution outputs not only support close-ups and final presentation deliverables, but encourage high-quality experimentation with finishes, surfaces, and more, all without leaving the design environment.
  • Consistent assets from design to presentation. Assets placed in Enscape transfer cleanly into Envision, maintaining placement and quality across real-time and high-end workflows.
  • Grass visualization improvements. More realistic grass rendering delivers denser, more natural-looking landscapes with better shading and detail.

Chaos Cosmos

Over 1,000 new high-quality vegetation and branded assets, optimized for both real-time and high-end use cases, have been added to Enscape. These curated assets for architects are also designed to work seamlessly across Envision, Enscape, and more, enabling users to populate scenes easily.

Veras

A rising offering in AI architecture, Veras  is an AI-powered visualization tool that helps architects explore ideas, styles, and moods quickly without breaking geometry or design intent.

Major updates include:

  • Render Engine 7. The recently released Veras 4 now comes with a new AI rendering engine powered by Google’s Nano Banana Pro. The new engine delivers cleaner, higher-fidelity images with less artifacts, so architects can cycle through faster ideations while working with SketchUp, Rhino, and Revit.
  • Image as input.  Designers can now generate concepts using reference images like photos, plans, or sketches on a napkin, offering one of the fastest ways to visualize full scenes without a prompt.
  • Gallery mode. A grid-based, thumbnail view of past renders has been added, making it easier to compare variations over time.
  • New video presets.  Twelve video presets provide render-ready animation settings for smooth, photorealistic motion, balanced lighting, and various cinematic styles.

Envision

A bridge between CAD and high-end presentations, Envision is stand-alone visualization and animation software for architects and designers looking to create photorealistic, interactive scenes featuring complex models, crowds, and animation.

New features include:

  • Live CAD linking. Envision now includes live links to Revit, SketchUp, and Rhino, ensuring that all changes are reflected in the original CAD file.
  • Cinematic camera movements. Users can now create smooth, natural camera paths with refined motion control for more polished and intentional walkthroughs.
  • Animation smoothing. Smoother transitions and better interpolation between keyframes improves animation flow.
  • Advanced light controls. Lighting can be refined and adjusted with greater precision for more accurate mood and presentation quality.
  • New HDRIs. More than 20 new Chaos Cosmos HDRIs expand options for environments, making it faster to set up realistic lighting and contextual backdrops.

Chaos Cloud

Chaos Cloud helps teams collaborate during design reviews and render anything from simple visualizations to complex animations.

New features include:

  • Centralized reviews. Teams can now share, review, and improve designs directly in the cloud, negating downloads or external tools.
  • 3D streaming. Architects can now stream scenes directly from Enscape, providing full fidelity reviews from any remote location.

Enscape Impact

Teams can analyze and optimize the energy performance of their building from within Enscape early in the design via Enscape Impact, reducing a task of days to a matter of minutes.

New additions include:

  • Thermal comfort analysis. Architects can now determine if a building will hit the sweet spot between too hot or too cold for occupants, assessing everything from air temperature to humidity in moments.
  • Performance summaries.  All performance reports can now be exported and shared among relevant stakeholders, ensuring sustainability goals are being hit before decisions become too costly.

The ArchDesign Collection update is available now for those with an annual license. It includes Enscape, Veras, Envision, Chaos Cosmos, Chaos Cloud, and Enscape Impact. Chaos says new architectural design offering updates will be released quarterly.
