Announced at Siggraph 2018, the Academy Software Foundation was formed to facilitate open software development for the creative community. The foundation will be hosting its annual Open Source Days at Siggraph in Denver. This on-site and virtual event is free but registration is required. Also, the ASWF has announced Version 1.5 of OpenFX, one of its incubation projects for interoperability among image processing tools in the VFX industry. The full release of the plug-in is expected later this summer.
