Actors and artists recognized the danger that generative AI poses to them and their careers—so much so they were willing to strike over this very issue in 2023.
But AI is creeping into more and more corners of M&E production—sometimes quietly, sometimes with heavier footsteps. Artists are finding that many AI-powered tools in the pipeline are helping them do their jobs faster and more efficiently. Creators are happy to have AI assist them, to do the low-level, non-creative aspects of the job so they can focus on the creative demands. But when it comes to AI doing more and expanding into the creative areas, well, that can be a problem, or not, as some have discovered recently.
