Now both Maya LT and Mudbox are available on pay-as-you-go plans.
Autodesk today said it will now offer Mudbox 2015 on subscription for as low as $10 per month, effective immediately.
The 3D digital painting and sculpting software is often used alongside Maya or Maya LT in 3D asset development. For example, an artist can sculpt and texture 3D characters, creatures and objects in Mudbox, import them into Autodesk Maya LT 2015 for additional customization, and then export the assets to Unity or other compatible game engines to complete the project.
What do we think?
Autodesk is moving rapidly to make its tools both attractive and affordable to the fast-growing indie game development market. Maya LT is now $50/month, less if you pay for an annual subscription. Expect to see more pay-as-you go offers from Autodesk’s Media and Entertainment division.
