Asia is intent on growing its capabilities beyond manufacture and they’re building expertise in design as well. Electronic Design represents an important domino as Asia seeks to draw new business and speed the trend of globalization.

The Asia Symposium on Quality Electronic Design, is planning a conference with the snappy handle of ASQED2010 for August 3-4, 2010 in Penang, Malaysia. The group has announced their final program which includes participation from Synopsys, Texas Instruments, University of Tokyo, Elabs, and Silicon Hive. They are planning 70 technical presentations.
This is the second annual ASQED event. It’s aim is to promote quality-based electronic design and manufacture in Asia and as part of that goal, the organizers hope to pull together information from the semiconductor, Nano-Electronic, Bio-Electronic, MEMS/NEMS,  and PV technologies. The design, manufacture, test, and packaging disciplines will be represented.

The list of keynote speakers include John Chilton SVP, marketing and Strategic Development, Synopsys; Professor Kamran Eshraghian, founder and president of Elabs, Dr. Hitoshi Tabata, Professor and Head of the Department of Bioengineering, The University of Tokyo; Paul Emerson, General Manager, Texas Instruments; and Dr. Jeroen Leijten, Co-Founder and CTO, Silicon Hive.
